FOG RISING

This is a pastel that measures about 16 X 20. It was done for a client that  liked my old business card and wanted to purchase the original which is already sold. The business card is the one that has my Fly Fishing painting on it. The Fly Fishing, was a small watercolor using slightly different color and with the fisherman in a different pose. I changed it and did it in pastel because I thought I could get the fog to really look like mist rising from the water. I did this by spraying the background with a fixative, then I place some white pastel at the waterline and used my fingers to push the white chalk up into the trees. I was so pleased with it that I am now working on a series of pastels that are some what similar. I am thinking of doing some cattails, some birds and a deer but not in the same picture.
